Sofia's Graduation Session at FGCU
There’s something surreal about photographing someone you’ve known since the moment they entered the world. From first breath to first degree, This FGCU senior photo session was incredibly special because it marked the end of a chapter for my little sister, Sofia and because it reminded me how the passage of time moves so quickly.
I was actually in the room the day Sofia was born. I watched her take her first breath and wear those little cute eye patches when she was being treated for jaundice. I knew she was gonna be smart by the way she held the eye patches when she was a newborn haha! And now here I am behind the camera capturing the milestone moments leading up to her college graduation. Cue the tears.
Sofia will soon graduate from Florida Gulf Coast University with a degree in Exercise Science. She’s passionate about movement, wellness, and helping others live healthier lives. I’ve watched her pour herself into her studies with discipline and purpose, and it’s paying off in beautiful ways.
She’s already landed a full-time position as an Exercise Physiologist with DexaFit in Naples, Florida—a science-based health optimization company that specializes in advanced body composition testing, VO2 Max assessments, metabolic health analysis, and more. It’s the perfect fit for Sofia’s mix of curiosity, compassion, and drive.
We wandered through some of her favorite spots on campus, stopping by the iconic FGCU boardwalk, palm-lined paths, and of course the Recreation and Wellness Center. The result? A gallery full of bright, joyful, windswept images that feel just like Sofia—strong, light, and full of hope.
Sofia, I’m endlessly proud of the woman you’re becoming. Watching your story unfold has been one of the greatest joys of my life, and I can’t wait to see what comes next.
